Level Five Lit was founded by developmental editors Abigail Raeke and Libby Baker, two story-driven teachers who believe creative writing can be taught without stripping away a writer’s voice. They developed the Level Five Lit framework: a five-phase approach to writing and revision that helps authors understand where they are in the process, what skills to strengthen, and how to move forward with clarity and confidence.
Abigail Raeke, a certified developmental editor based in Portland, Oregon, is on a mission to help aspiring authors achieve their publishing goals. Her instructive style demystifies the narrative process and breaks down the craft of building a powerful book into clear, teachable components.
Libby Baker, a certified developmental editor based in Los Angeles, California, specializes in helping screenwriters transition to novels and novelists deepen their storytelling power. Libby has devoted her 25+ year career in the arts to telling meaningful stories and guiding others to tell theirs.
